The GoPro system has multiple mounting devices from helmet cams to surf boards to vehicle. They have a suction mount that is rated for 200 MPH. The camera is 1080p HD and has other options like selectable frame speed and an 11mp camera. Other options like wifi remote are also available.

What I did was fab a alternate inspection cover plate and attached the GoPro clip system to it. This gives me several places to mount. Works well.
