I had one quit on me a few years ago. the problem was that the wires that enter the motor had worn at the entry point due to the motion of the motor when actuating the cowl flaps. The end of the motor comes off pretty easily with a few screws and then re-soldering is possible. wiggling the wires without disassembly may show intermittent operation as an indicator that this is the issue.
