Your mechanic is right, the TYPE CERTIFICATE DATA WORK SHEET for a 337G shows "D2AF34C306" for S/N 33701463 through 33701748 and "D2F34C310" for S/N 33701449, 33701749 and up.
But living in Mexico I am not sure I would worry about it. You need to check with your insurance company to make sure it is ok with them. Fred N358
