I assume you read the thread entitled "Need O/H Cowl Flap Moter(Front)", last message 2/3/05, where several people have found that having your mechanic service the unit (mostly cleaning it) often solves the problem.

Well.... That one will be pretty hard to repair! You might want to check with Don Nieser. He is listed several times on this site. Generally under the parts threads.

cowl flap motor
I suggest you investigate converting the fron cowl flap operation the a n STC cable unit. Owen Bell can do it.
BTW, A friend has a well equipped 414 with Ram coversion. The cowl flaps out on the wing are all non electrical cable operated. Every wonder why Cessna Engineers decided to keep the motor design on the Skymaster? Jerry ![]() |
