![]() HI GUY'S,
MY 337 IS IN FOR ANNUAL AND THE CUSHIONING MATERIAL (LOOKS LIKE CORK) UNDER THE FUEL TANKS APPEARS TO HAVE MOVED SOME AND MAY BE METAL TO METAL, (BOTTOM OF TANKS ON THE STRINGER). HAS ANY ONE SEEN THIS AND HAD TO REPLACE THE CUSHIONING MATERIAL? IF SO WHAT WAS USED OR IS CESSNA'S PRODUCT THE MATERIAL TO USE OR???? GUY, THE OLD 72 DRIVER... |

I have always used cork gasket material from the local auto parts store. Bought a roll and cut into strips with a razor blade, glued on with contact cement.

fuel tank cork mounting
This is very common....we use a heavy rubberized Fuel proof material....the trick is to let the glue dry before replacing the tanks...unlike the factory...also while in there replace all the interconnecting hoses.

Cross reference number
As you are all probably used to, most part numbers in our parts manuals are seriously outdated. However, I called Spitfire Aviation, and they had a cross reference number for another form of tape. It wasn't cheap. I know, hard to believe! But it is out there.
