Wing root seals
Hi all,
My '69 has badly worn seals, and I'd like to replace them. Problem is, my IA can't seem to locate the right ones. He checked with Brown, and though he could find the right shape he couldn't find them in a wide enough seal that would span the gap. Any of you found a source for these in recent times? -Gray- |

Check with your paint shop

After calling several paint shops, all have sent me back to Brown's. Spoke on the phone with Brown's and they said they don't have it, and it would be several hundred, if not thousands to manufacture. So no luck there.
So has anyone been able to source one of these recently? For clarity, I've attached an image of what I'm referring to. |

Looking at the parts manual, I think you're looking for part number S2145-1.
And I think I got some a few years ago from Yingling. https://cessnadirect.com/s2145-1 Last edited by Mich3773 : 09-12-21 at 08:30 AM. |

Wing root seals
Yankee Clipper.
FYI. The other member suggested Aircraft Spruce, the one with the tail would be best, if you're not going to install, or can't find the original Cessna seal? The seal is only the there to keep chafing down and to close the gap between the the wing and fuselage? Hope this helps. Regards, BILLS |

Many thanks for this information. I've passed on to my IA and will report back on how (or where) he prevailed.
