Lower Air Stair Door collects water
If my ‘77 G-model sits out in the rain, the lower air stair door appears to collect water, emptying itself upon opening. Thought I’d check here to see if anyone else solved this problem, or knows how the water gets in?

On my 1973 C337G that problem exists also. I'm fairly certain if you look carefully at the two door halves in the closed position, the lower door "lip" (for lack of a better term) protrudes outward slightly more than the upper door "lip." If you run your fingers over the seem of the two door halves from top to bottom, you will notice a slight "step." My thought has always been as water runs downward, rather than run smoothly over this seem, it simply gets hung up on this "step" eventually making its way inside the lower door half.
I do not really have a solution other than I make sure my airplane never gets rained on. |
