Heat shield
We wrap the beams with the red fire shield you find on engine hosesand then wrap them with metal tape (speed tape). works good and last a long time

How about describing this "heat shield" for an ignoramus? Is that something optional, new, or being re-done? Do all models have it?
(Never heard of it before and would like to know...) |

![]() hey paul rear engine main engine support beams are close to exhaust. This heat cycle can cause corrosion. anything that stops the heat cycle will slow down corrosion and maint. J

![]() Wouldn't heat shields be geared more to the turbo models than the normally aspiriated? I don't see any heat marks on my bird...

heat shields
The turbo-charged ones are usually the only ones that need them.
And for Paul. The heat shield I use is more like an insulation wrap around the tube. I will sand prime and paint the tube before I put the fire sleeve and tape on. Hope this helps Kim |

Nice picture - says a lot in one look.
Mine's a turbo (not a P), so I better have the mechs look at those things. Never heard of the heat shield thing, so that's why I asked. Thanks. |
