Traveling to the Bahamas
There's a $300 Fuel Credit, being issued by the Bahamas, applicable to certain hotels. It includes Treasure Cay, where I have stayed. It's good through June 30, 2012. There are a whole host of requirements, which bear investigation.
Here's a link to the offer. http://www.myoutislands.com/USA-private-pilots.cfm |

Not bad! One big condition is the four night min. stay - if one is not inclined to remain in one place that long, that would be a drawback. Something to check if availing oneself of this offer might be the actual room rate - does the normal pilot discount apply also (as in Treasure Cay?) Make sure to get the room rate including all fees and taxes. Tourist tax is in the vicinity of 10%, plus "promotion levy" of around 4%, plus "resort fee" in some hotels of 15%! The taxes and fees can add 30% - 40% to the base room charge.
