Where to install a TCAD processor?
Good Morning Gents,
I am looking at where to install the processor for a TCAD in my 337. (I've actually got the TCAS version, active interrogator!). Any suggestions or experience as to where to fit the processor? My avionics shop is suggesting up near the autopilot brain. Then they have to pull encoder, control head and power out to it, but all the RF cables are easy. Or should it be in the avionics bay? Then the RF cables are tricky. Your suggestions feedback appreciated. Thanks D

big cheese
It is an Rstol T337D. He thinks he has figured out how to stuff the processor in the avionics bay by relocating the audio interface on the front bay wall. Quite a squish. Open to suggestions and experience from anyone who has one.

Not ideal, but the only place mine would fit is on the floor in the rear cargo/seat area. My 1965 machine only has 5 seats. The unit is under a carpeted box they made up beside the seat. On the one hand it is OK as it acts as a nice armrest for that seat, but really it is not the best spot, sort of a compromise, but it would not go anywhere else. I have the Skywatch 497 system and the box is pretty big...and lots of wiring!
