T337C Fuel Selector Valve
Help! I've got a fuel selector valve which hangs up mid-way to the AUX position. Does anyone know of a company which repairs/overhauls these things? McFarlane Aviation doesn't.

Are you sure the cable hasn't slipped and maybe it's just out of adjustment?

Do you grease the valve's steel ball and detents every 100hrs/annual? It might need some good old fashion lube.

Tony & 337B:
The valve is out of the aircraft, and still hangs up. How do you grease the detentes and steel ball? Do you have to remove the valve from the aircraft to do this? I sent the valve to B&S Aircraft in Wichita for repair. They list the Airborne fuel selector valve model number 1H28-1 for this T337C as "Repair only - no overhaul".

Please let me know what they charge to repair that valve...considering that a new one is $15,000 the last time I checked. I would also have them put a new gasket in it at the same time.
I just use my finger to smere grease all around the detents, so the ball slides easily over the detents...I believe that was a Cessna service bulletin, as well as the service manual. |
