337G Hydraulic Power Pack solenoid problem

Hi everyone!

I´m from Portugal.
Hope someone could help me. I´ve been trouble shooting a 337G landing gear. Works fine except for both solenoids getting so hot to a point that the pilot touched them and got second degree burn. They are the old sealed ones.

Electrically speaking the gear solenoid is always energised except when landing gear selector is down or when on ground (squat switch), the door solenoid is supplied all the time.

Changing solenoids will solve my problem?

I also read a post that cleaning the solenoids (new type) solved this problem

Thanks
Steven

Hi Steven, there is a Service Bulletin on the solenoids, I would replace them. You might want to talk to Rick Cox at Cox aeroparts in Wichita, Ks.

Best of Luck,
Brent

I'll check if I still have a copy of it, but this is Cessna's reply on the Skymaster website:
"Cessna does not and it does not allow others to post its service letters and
bulletins on websites. Cessna has a full range of copyrighted service
publications available for owners, including subscriptions to Service
letters and bulletins. Cessna directly distributes such publications to
ensure that accurate, correct, and complete service information is provided
to individual owners for their specific aircraft. If you would like more
