Hello fellow members. I’m looking for some detailed information on specific airspeed/power settings for flying a 1965 C337. I have a 1965 C337 project that I’m working on and would GREATLY appreciate these airspeed/power settings. I’ve been studying the AFM/POH and have found a syllabus on the SOAP web site from RTC but unfortunately it doesn’t give airspeed/power settings. I have a flight simulator with the Skymaster and I am trying to learn on it. But with out specific airspeed/power settings it's not very helpful. I’d like to know procedural speed and power settings for take-off, climb, cruise, descent, and landing. I have pour through the AFM/POH for this information but as you probably know the older Aircraft Flight Manual is lacking! I also see that there is NO GO AROUND procedures with both engines operating in the POH/AFM?

In my 1968 owners manual it states; Section I Operating Check List, Take-Off (2) Power -- Full throttle and 2800 RPM, (4) Elevator Control -- Lift nosewheel at 75 to 80 MPH, (5) Climb Speed -- 115 MPH, etc, etc Climb. Normal Climb, (1) Airspeed -- 120 to 140 MPH, (2) Power -- 24 inches and 2600 RPM, etc. etc. Your manual should have this info..........if not let me know

Thanks for the reply. Yes my AFM does have these values. But what I'm asking is specific values such as in the pattern starting with downwind, SAY "20 inches at 2400 RPM speed 100 MPH"? Base-15" @ 2200 RPM speed 95 MPH? Final 12" @ 1200 RPM speed 85 MPH? These are the specifics I'm talking about. ALSO does your 1968 have a "GO AROUND" with both engines operating? Mine does not. Any thanks for the reply. I hope you or other members can help with these speeds/power settings and a "go around with both engine operating". Thanks. BILLS |

Leighton. Thanks for your reply. I understand the speed and power settings will be different for DA, temp, weight etc, etc. Since I'm only now starting to learn the Skymaster I'd like some BASE-LINE settings. When I went from piston helicopter back to fixed wing (airplanes) my Civil Air Patrol CFI had given me some target speeds/power settings, which was helpful.

Here's the numbers from my type training ... TAKEOFF maximum power 2800 rpm fuel > 100 pph rotate 70 kias accelerate in ground effect climb at 90 kias 200 AGL flaps up 400 AGL gear up, set climb power AFTER TAKEOFF CLIMB 2600 rpm 26" 90 pph 100 kias ENROUTE CLIMB 2600 rpm 26" 90 pph 120 kias CRUISE 2400 rpm, 23" or 2200 rpm, 20" DESCENT mixture rich 2100 rpm 19" DOWNWIND mixture rich 2100 rpm 19" 120 kias flaps 1 gear down BASE props full forward flaps 1 or 2 as desired 100 kias power as required FINAL (runway assured) flaps 3 75 kias 2 ENGINE GO AROUND maximum power propellers full forward flaps up airspeed 90 kias gear up at 400 ft AGL cowl flaps open 1 ENGINE GO AROUND maximum power propellers full forward flaps up airspeed 90 kias gear up at 400 ft AGL cowl flaps open on the operating engine only You might consider taking the Cessna Pilot's C337 Systems and Procedures course. I've heard good things about it. |

This is what I was looking for! MANY THANKS! I'll have to do some conversions on fuel flow/airspeed (My Skymaster uses GPH and MPH) other than that EVERYTHING LOOKS GREAT! As for the Skymaster Association's Systems and Procedures course, I have the manual they give attendees BUT I haven't been. Thanks again. BILLS |

operating course
owned my T337C for about 10 years now...but I'd try to go to that course if offered....was thinking the guy who used to teach it retired. But if someone wants to get it on the calendar, I'll try to come as well.
Anyone else? |

Thanks. I googled it and realized that it is "Pounds per Hour" The first "P" threw me as we in the US use "LB" for pounds. No harm No foul! Thanks again for your quick reply. BILLS |
