Gear door kit

I have purchased a gear door kit but after talking to people that have fitted a number of kits on 210 and 337and people who have had them fitted they inform me it takes off 5 knots cruise
Aldo this came from a reputable person who is an authority on 337s and hold seminars also told me of the loss in speed
Your remarks please

Your message leaves a lot of information unknown. I assume you are referring to the gear door deletion kit? Please provide some details, aircraft model, kit, location etc

I have the gear delete kit *and* 3 bladed props *and* vortex generators. Based on that I should have the slowest 337 in the world....just the opposite is true. I make book numbers all the time.

See attached. The other day I was 155ktas - 158ktas at 10500'msl on 18gph/108pph. Hot day and DA was over 12k.

That speed sounds really slow, maybe because it's military built. The gear door deletion kit does not reduce speed significantly enough to make any difference. If it's 2 or 3 knots who cares. That's like 5 minutes in a couple hour flight.

I consistently get about 155 kt TAS burning 18.5 gph with Horton STOL, MT's, Gear Door Deletion and large boom fairings

He did say KIAS, which should be just about right, at least where 24 square is possible.
