Someone confirm Taxi and Landing light spec?
A 2010 thread started, but failed to resolve this question. Best I can tell, PAR 36 for Taxi and Par 46 for Landing? No, I take that back ... I can't tell at all.

I think they are both Par 36, but the support assembly points the taxi light down lower than the landing light.

If you are replacing them with LED bulbs, there are different bulbs for the taxi and the landing lights.

Do you know which type the other would be? If go look but it's in a shop 2 hours away, and the IA is badly overbooked and understaffed so I don't want to bother him with this.
And yes, I am looking to go LED. |

The PARMETHEUS™ G3 PAR 36 LED LANDING & TAXI LIGHTS are probably what you're looking for. These are STC'd so there shouldn't be a problem with your IA approving them. The STC documents are available via a tab on this page (see item #66 and #74 on the STC/AML). There might be other brands of TSO'd lights out there also ... ?

Thanks. When I went to various resellers and punched in the application (69 Delta) some of them would offer up a PAR 46, where others would state as you just did. Since they are clearly not interchangeable, it was a bit of a head-scratcher.
Appreciate you clearing that up. |
