Gear problem again on 337H
I flew 200 miles from home base & gear came down, did not detent, doors stayed open, power pack kept running until gear circuit breaker popped & I got no green light. I looked in mirrors on wings & gear looked ok. So I put gear up, all went up ok & doors closed. I cycled gear down 5 more times with same problem. I put gear up & tried lowering gear with the hand pump.
still no light. I know the bulb in green light was ok because I tested it on the first time I put gear down. I called the mechanic on the ground & he ran to runway with portable radio & I did a low fly by. He said gear looked ok but all doors are open. So I came around again. When I turn base I put down all flaps. got speed to 90 knots & turned final. When I turned final I heard that familiar clunk when gear detents. Green light came on & I landed. Doors did not close because I pulled circiut breaker so power pack would not burn up. When on ground I pushed breaker in & doors closed. We put plane on jacks & everything worked good & we could not find anything wrong. So I flew back home with gear down. I have a appointment with O & N Aviation next week. They did annual 3 weeks ago. This is the problem I had all last summer. I forgot to mention it was over 90 degrees F yesterday when I had problem. |

Dale,
Your problem is misadjusted downlock micro switches. Check those and you will be alright. Burt |
