My 1943 Clarkat B works great, and as legend has it, will handle anything up to 80,000lbs.

I use two TSIO 360AB engines
I own Potomac Airfield. www.potomac-airfield.com
Our T hangars go for between $500 and $900+/mo. At those prices, I'd have to be out of my mind to rent a hangar! Actually, ... 1. I am too lazy to move it around in and out of a hangar. What, 3k lbs empty? 2. Modern paint/interior materials just don't wear out like they used to. 3. I find it hard enough to find time to go for a whirl. A hangar would add another impediment to just 'going.' 4. I get my pick of tie downs. I'm sleeping with the owner's wife. 5. I face the schnozz (forward engine) NORTH, so a. the angle of incidence of sun on windshield is 'behind,' = no real wear, and b. snow/ice melts faster with tail facing south. c. Washington DC climate is NOT Novosibirsk OR Abu Dhabi. I wouldn't say 'mild.' Summers are hot. Lots of hot air from downtown. I think it actually creates a micro climate inside the beltway. 6. Did I mention I am lazy?
