I'll definitely take one!

Happy to go the "owner produced" route.

For those that would like to go the owner produced parts please PM me with your email and I will provide you with the specifics for ordering.

I have ran the heater for 3.5 hours continuously last week in the hangar without any problems. I will have 3 units that should be able to ship by the end of the month. The unit in the circuit with the thermostat pulls 2.3 amps.

The kit will include, heater unit, Cessna style single wire connectors and pins for the power wire and the ground wire, push on connectors to connect to the thermo disk, two #50 drill bits for alignment and installation, tube of high temp RTV, 4 ty-raps, and installation instructions. A requirement will be that the installation be checked with an external power supply to verify that the thermostat (thermo disk) is working properly. And a word of caution, Do not power the heater until the installation is complete in the strut fairing.

As a note, you did well with the amp draw! For those of you without the Maintenance Manual, I have the '74 through '80; my '77 G is 4.3 amps! '74 through '76 is 2.2 (close enough), the '78 is 2.9, and the '79 & '80 is back to 2.2. Well done, Dan!

Hi Dan,

I own a 1973 C337G Sky Master, N1873M s/n 33701473. My pitot heat recently has ceased to function. Do you still sell your pitot heat kit as well as the thermostat/heat sensor? If so, what is your current price for all and how do I order? I also sent you an email at the address you posted.

I will see my IA mechanic tomorrow to discuss installing your kit if you have availability.

Sincerely,

Ed Asmus
