replacement for cracked turbo housing

I had to leave my T337D on the east coast. Discovered overheated paint on the rear fuselage on landing at KSBY and investigation showed cracks in the turbine side housing in the area facing the burnt paint so its leaking exhaust gas and burning the paint. The turbine seems to spin fine and no other apparent damage. The turbo was just rebuilt last year at annual, and it was making good pressure on the flight to the east coast so I think its fine other than the cracks. I manage the TIT religiously at or below 1600F so I don't think it was overheated. Not sure why it is cracked other than age. I have calls into main turbo in visalia CA and Commodore aerospace, no calls back yet but wondering if there is anyone else I should call who might have one on the shelf for a swap?

There have been a few P-models sold for salvage in the last few months. Check the insurance aviation salvage auction sites, and see who bought the salvage and reach out. You may have to ask the seller to send the buyer a message for you.

I've heard of turbo housing cracks being repaired, but I've never done it so don't know any details.

I had the unit shipped to main turbo and they installed a new housing and shipped it back with 24 hour turn around. Pretty amazing service for this day and age. It’s going back on this week.

To close this out, the turbo was reinstalled and I flew it back across the country with no further sign of trouble. I then flew to Sedona this last week and back. A total of around 25 hours of flight time so Id say its fixed. I should add that main turbo swapped the housing and shipped it back 2 day all at no charge, without me even asking. Remarkable service. I would recommend them highly.
