Jerry De Santis is on a distinguished road
Talking N48AT spotted on Russia T.V.

I was in Moscow, Russia on business on the 24th of October. At 5:45 A.M I was watching a National Georgraphic program about a man named Gus that flew his Stearman Biplane from the States to the North Pole. The program showed each step of the way and places he landed at.

Half way up there in Canada as Gus was walking from his plane into the FBO, there was a Skymaster N48AT sitting on the ramp. I knew I saw that plane before. I think it belongs to Richard Galvin.

Hey Rick, was that you plane in the program?

Well anyway, Gus made it to the North Pole but on the way back had engine problems and landed on the snow and had to leave that great Stearman there. Was good though seeing the Skymaster get some fame even if it was by chance.

Can't get away from those Skymasters.
Jerry

That was our plane

Yes, it is our plane.
It was owned then by the guy that I purchased it from.
I know Gus very well, as he is based at the same airport and I flew with him a couple of years ago to OSH.
