We have had to clean the brushes, etc. on our front cowl motor a couple of times over the years (just engine oil/schmoo that worked its way inside), but had a similar problem to yours with our rear cowl motor that turned out to be a frayed power supply wire -- nothing wrong internally. Sure, it could be worn brushes, etc, but it is worthwhile to check continuity of wiring before yanking out the motor.

mags and cowl flap motor update
cowl flap motor was wire..thanks for advice.
mag update: got them overhauled, and it ws pricey, but they did them quick. New related issue: ignition wiring harness apprently has a bad wire and he recommends replacement...problem is figuring out replacement. number on current one is M2020RH....and the mags say S6LSC-25T, or BL-500556-203...nieth option for mag numbers correspeonds to any application chart I can find for the TSIO-360Ab engine 9with 5/8/H plugs size)....anyone had to do this and have any insights....the number on the charts is coming up to 2015, not 2020....thoughts? |
