Fix your leaking pushrod tubes

Ron Lilco of Western Skymasters shared this as the way to FINALLY stop your pushrod tubes from leaking:

This fixes it. Not exactly the A&P school way but it works.
Take the gray seal a new one coat it completely with gray high temp Permatex.
1. Permatex ultra gray gasket maker.
2. Compress the spring in a vice and safety wire it on both sides.
3. Put a new red O-Ring on the top end
4. Assemble the bottom end all together. Seals washers spring all in place on the tube.
5. Then carefully put the seal & Tube into the block.
6. Take my tool (I’ll show you how to
build one) and carefully push on the spring just enough to get the top end in the cylinder head pocket.
7. Take a mirror and check the top end red O-Ring to make sure it seated properly. It sometimes doesn’t and it will pinch.
8. When it’s all in place cut the safety wires and pull them out.
9. Wipe it down good and let it dry. They won’t leak if everything is good.

Larry Good with Don Nieser Commodore Aerospace taught me that trick. Honestly it really works well

I’ll send you a picture of my tool.
Ron
