Landing Gear Hoses

Hi Everyone

Whislt it is still a little while (couple months) before I get to working on the landing gear and the replacment of all those associated hydraulic hoses, I wanted to ask for views on the best place to purchase new hoses.

I have read through a number of previous post's, but thought I would get the latest advice.

Who's changed theres lately?
Any quirks I should be wary of?

Regards
Dave

pht

Precision Host Technology has good pricing and turnaround - they have hose kits for the 337 series, both engines and hydraulic.

Changed all mine during the interior upgrade in 2009. Bought the whole lot from Yingling (Cessna). Everything was pretty straight forward.

Hi Everyone

Just wanted to give everyone a quick update on the progress of purchasing hydraulic hose's for the landing gear on the 337G.

I have placed an order with PHT (Refer Herbs post for the web site) and after supplying the relevant P/N to Ashley at PHT he returned a quote of $758 for the 16 hoses.

At the same time I have ordered both set's of engine hose's in teflon. Normally you would pay $950 for the 14 hose's from PHT with 6 being firesleeved as standard. In Australia all fluid carrying hose beyond the firewall must be firesleeved, so the cost increased to $1221

I will continue to keep all of you up to date with any cost's related to replacement parts that I feel will be of value.

Regards
Dave

Angry One engine hose easily missed - over passenger's knees

I have had my aircraft for 20 years and had two complete hose replacements, landing gear and engine. I prefer the teflon and went firesleeved this time, as I understand the firesleeve also extends the life by protecting the hose from heat et al.

Despite 20 years of meticulous maintenance, this year they found an oil pressure line up in the passenger compartment over the passenger's knees. I believe it fed wither a pressure gauge or perhaps the hour meter.

When they took it out, it all but crumbled. YIKES!

Had it let go in flight, it would have sprayed hot oil over the passengers legs.

Check that one too.

Hi David

Thanks for the insight, have now asked PHT to supply these hoses as well. Luckily mine are out anyway as I am in the process of cleaning and inspecting all the instruments and wiring etc.

Regards
Dave
