Talking Petition to amend 3rd class medical

Fellow 'Thrasherists

Some time ago I filed a petition with Sec DOT and FAA to amend 3rd class
Only to be required for aicraft OVER 6,000 lbs
Otherwise driver's license only

The 6,000lb limit was so that people would realize the public safety issue was identical to any SUV. You can lose your medical, then drive home at night in your SUV, or motorhome.

How exactly was public safety enhanced by taking away your medical?

It has over 1,000 comments to the docket
More never hurt

You can find the links to read the petition, and how to submit comments through
my airport website at www.potomac-airfield.com

AOPA and EAA have just recently announced their own rather 'tepid' proposal,
to expand the LSA driver's license to recreational pilots,
i.e. limited to 180 hp, day vfr, one passenger, fixed gear.

Their proposal stands to benefit all 12 recreational pilots in the USA.

Please submit comments on my petition,
and your views of the AOPA EAA petition, into the docket!

I've got lots of people looking at those submissions.

Also, push to talk/meet/write your local Congressmen and Senators,
and get them to weigh in.
Ask for copies of their letters to FAA etc,
to confirm you're not just getting a smile and no action.

Time to take the Bastille, ands get rid of pointless intrusion into people's lives.
