Cool Landing gear hoses, MEB 92-5

Hey guys, happy Thanksgiving, A while back I asked about hoses, should have been more specific. Landing gear hoses, the ones required on MEB-92-5. Rereadind the bulletin it states "Hoses affected are thoes with LESS than a two inch bend radius or thoes placed in compression during landing gear operation"... The hoses that came don't meet that criteria, the bend radius says 3.00 for the 111 hose type suggested to be used. I don't feel I should use said hose. What do you think, anyone change these hoses recently? These are from PHT. Guy, old72driver....

re hoses

Guy

I replaced all my hoses two years ago and found that certain hoses were only available from Cessna. I ended up going to Yingling to make sure I remained legal. In fact they were not much more than if I were to have them made up.

I am not near my paperwork but I think I might be able to find the information. BTW it was for a 74 P model.

hope this helps.

Bob

I say call Precision Hose Technology in Tulsa and replace any hydraulic, fuel or vacuum hose older than ten years, or has no date or is otherwise suspect. Have your serial number handy.

Cool Hydraulic hoses...

bawb, thats what I did for the hoses called for in MEB92-5 which I changed back in 92. Reading the bulletin it says that the hoses affected were those with less than a two inch bend radius. The 111 hoses that were made up, in there spec page state mimimum bend radius is 3.00 inches. Is there something I don't understand here? Guy, old72driver....

Guy,

Give Mike a call at PHT. He can probably give you the best answer even though he has a vested interest in selling his hoses. Remember, MEB 92-5 is not an AD, so compliance is not required. When I did my hoses last spring, I don't remember any with anywhere near a 1" radius.
