WD-40 = STODDARD SOLEVENT
I JUST GO TO THE LOCAL BULK OIL PLANT WITH MY 2 GAL JUG AND GET MY WD-40 BULK. IT'S ABOUT $2-3 A GAL.

FOR THE REALLY BIG BELLY JOBS, I HAVE A SMALL 1/2 GAL WEED SPRAYER WITH A PUMP AND I GET THE JOB DONE QUICK. THE STODDARD EVAPS AND LOT QUICKER AND DOESN'T SMEAR AROUND AS MUCH. PLUS I DON'T HAVE THAT PROBLEM OF AN AEROSOL CAN THAT YOU CAN'T SPRAY UPSIDEDOWN. MY LITTLE WEED SPRAYER HAS A 3 FOOT HOSE. WORKS GREAT.

NOW THAT I FINALLY GOT THE FRONT ENGINE OIL LEAK FIXED I DON'T REALLY USE IT AS MUCH.

BTW, THE LEAK WAS THE HYDRAULIC PUMP INPUT SHAFT SEAL. TRICKY LITTLE BUGGER TO FIGURE OUT.

Herb, where's a bulk oil plant around here? After seeing the belly of your plane, I want mine to shine as good as yours.

Also, how do you clean the Stoddard Solvent off of concrete?

Mineral spirits

I and the majority of our friends use mineral spirits.
It is the best we have found, we put it into sprayer and off it comes.
Afterwards, we wash it down and wipe it off.
Let me know your thoughts.

JUST LOOK IN THE YELLOW PAGES UNDER OIL AND FIND A DISTRIBUTOR OF PETROLIUM PRODUCTS. I KNOW OF ONE IN COLDWATER WERNER OIL COMPANY. NOT SURE IN ZOO. BUT I KNOW YOU HAVE THEM THERE.

NOT SURE IF I HAVE TRIED MINERAL SPIRITS. THE WAY I CAME TO KNOW STODDARD IS WORKING WITH RADIAL ENGINES ON TBM'S AND AT6'S. IF THOSE GUYS AREN'T LEAKING OIL YOU BETTER NOT FLY THEM.

LARRY, THE ONLY REASON MY BELLY LOOKS GOOD, IS BECAUSE I CLEAN IT OFF ABOUT EVERY 4 - 5 FLIGHTS BEFORE THE GRIT STICKS TO IT. IT'S A PAIN.

I DID STOP A MAJOR CONTRIBUTOR TO THE MESS WHEN I SEALED THE GEAR PUMP SHAFT TO THE ENGINE.
