SOAPA Mid-Winter Meeting.

The minutes of our 1/13/07 Mid-Winter SOAPA E-Board Meeting last Saturday morning:

1. The following E-Boarders attended the SOAPA 2007 Mid-Winter Meeting:

2. We reviewed the treasury situation (still $2,422.15 plus the
registration fees received to date).

3. We reviewed the speakers/events/schedule for the Fly-In as of today's
date.

4. New speakers:

Herb will address us for an hour about formation flight trainining, and
present his latest Emmy Award material 8 - 10 minute film.

The Great Panel-Mount vs. Hand-Held GPS Debate: Jerry DeSantis for handhelds, Herb Harney for panel mounted GPS, Kevin Kennison will reprise his excelent performance as moderator. Format: 15 mins each case-in-chief, 5 minutes rebuttal each side, 20 mins audience participation, panel-style.
First speaker determined by coin toss.

Don Niser is attending, and can present his services.

5. Speaker search tasks:

Ernie will place a call for speakers blurb in the SOAPA home page. and will confirm Don Niser's attendance and see if he has a cowl flap motor to loan us for a cleaning demo by Pete Somers
Jerry will contact Chachi and the O2A and O2B organization, and see if Medical Solutions of OK City wants to come speak.
Paul will contact the Bahamas GA Tourism Guy and see if he'll speak, or at least buy us shrimps for the Skymaster Happy Hour.
Mary will call CarolAnne Garrett, who recently flew around the world in a Mooney.
Dave Jarrett will try to line up Jimmy Leeward to share his innermost secrets for winning at Reno with us.

6. Larry Bowdish will do the T-Shirts and hats printing this year, and see if his 8X8 foot screen will fit in his Skymaster.

7. Herb will provide air-to-air photography on Friday PM.

8. Audiovisuals: Mary and Larry will each bring a notebook computer and an LCD projector. Ernie will see if Jim Muse can bring a projection screen.

Great meeting, ya'll! I have a feeling this will be our best Fly-In
ever!

A note, that might be missed, is that Jerry, Herb, and I will work with you folks who attend to get your own, AIR to AIR photos of your airplane. Beautiful Bahamas in the background, you at the controls. With luck, we can send you home with some video as well.
