My center post was removed before I purchased the plane in 1995 (1977 337G). I know there is paperwork for the removal, I think a 337 form with some accompanying engineering data. I don’t think it was an STC.
I am not near the logbooks but will be so on Sunday. I would be glad to either post them to the forum or email them to anyone who is interested. No sense in going through the extra expense or re-inventing the wheel if it has been done previously and accepted by the FAA Kevin

I have located the paperwork for the windshield without stiffener. It is a 337 form, filed in 1991, which also contains FAA form 8110-3 approved by a Structural DER on 5/3/1991. I have copies of this 8110-3 form with an "Analysis of Removal of Windshield Frame Center Member" and some accompanying photographs (which didn't reproduce well).
If anyone wants a copy of this form I would be happy to email it to you. I am a little reluctant to just post it to the website. Kevin
