any one on here been to RTC? if so how did you find it? I have been told that the simulator is nothing like a skymaster and not realy worth it. any comments is appreciated.

A suggestion for people new to this site: the Search link at the top of this page allows you to seek key words, so that you don't have to ask questions that have been answered before. I put "recurrent training center" and got several messages of people who've trained there; they all seem to love it.

Well worth the money. Acouple of years ago they had a brand new sim from Germany and it wasn't like a 337. Over the two day period I helped them configure it to be very much like the 337.

Would you recomend it over training in the actuale aircraft?

For instrument training (I assume you mean), you need both. But it is FAR better to practice most of your IFR engine out work in the sim, just to reduce wear and tear on your engines. And like all simulators, you can be moved at then end of one approach to beginning of the next, saving the time of motoring through the sky to get there. In the short amount of time I have for this reply, I can't do it justice, but for part of your initial instrument training and for recurent training, RTC is highly recommended.

Actually, I'm just trying to bait the guy who owns the place.

RTC is great. I mean, what do you expect for what they charge? Talked to Flightsafety lately? (even if they had a 337, which they don't, it would be 3K a pop).

If you are anything like me, anything that gets you out of the office, and into flying for a few days is a positive experience. At RTC, they are small enough appreciate their customers, and big enough to do a good job.

What else can you ask for?

As far as the SIM goes. NO, it's not a P337, which is what I fly. But, it's close enough. And the owner really knows 337's. He's got 2 (a normal, and a P).

At times, he's a raving lunatic (especially when it comes to politics). But that's what I like about the place.

Anyway, check them out. You won't be dissapointed.

I've been going to RTC for 4 years now and I always learn something. Since my insurance company requires the training, it seems to me to be the best place to go for the money they charge. And yes, John can go off on a rant at the slightest provocation, but it's great fun. I'll be back there in April once again.
