I THINK THE LINE UP FOR THE AIRSHOW IS BETTER ON FRIDAY THAN ON THURSDAY. I WOULD OPT FOR A MEETING ON THURSDAY UNLESS WE CAN DO IT FRIDAY IN THE MORNING.

TOOK A RIDE ACROSS THE LAKE TODAY AND LANDED AT O'HARE. THAT WAS REALLY COOL. FIRST TIME FOR MY 337 AT ORD.

We normally "hang out" on the north west corner of the field. Suggest you fuel up before Chicago as things get busy north and especially "Ripon" which is a VFR meeting point. Go IFR if you can and get a slot.

Fuel on the field is not bad for $$. May want to stay around Decateur. Check prices on the net before leaving. Use Orbitz or hotwire for hotels.... Watch the CB's <G>.

Arve a safe flight

Refuel at knox, Ind. KIOXI

For some of the best fuel prices according to AirNav.com we are stopping at Knox.

I will coming on Tuesday, the NW corner iswhere you guys try and park.

I will try and see if we can get in that general direction.
There are some showers right in that same area as I remember.

Can somone tell me the time date and place for our meeting?

Showers are rather intermittent. Depends on luck.. Last year we only had showers on Friday........

Try close to the hilton..... great breakfast and lots of beer.

Thanks For the info, north west of the field is find, but how do I tell the flagmen that that is the place I need to go to.?

Also we desided to leave early Thursday morning hopefully will arrive in the afthernoon.

Someone here told me it is most probable that they wont let people land if the field is full???? I was curious, do we got a recerve parking for the Skymasters or is on a first come first served bases?

Thanks

Perhaps Kevin can post info. There are internet pc's around.
First come first served. Rarely are they full.... at least I have never seen AC turned away.

As the flagman to direct you to the north west corner. There are people leaving and you grab a spot.

Carefull of the show times. The field closes after about 2 pm. check the EAA schedule at www.eaa.org.

should not have a problem. Just follow the AC ahead after filing in at Ripon if VFR.

They always give skymaster priority due to noise

Last year, when several us made a strong commitment to arrive on a particular day, the first to arrive (I think it was Bob, but maybe it was Larry, sorry, I was last) reserved several parking places together in the Northwest parking area. Maybe someone will be willing to do that again.

You can communicate with the parking people by making a sign that says "CAMPING, NORTHWEST". You will know they are taking you to the right area if you are heading toward the Hilton hotel on the field.

Since I will not be attending this year, I will be glad to act as a point of contact to refer information. You can add messages to this thread, but if that is not possible because you do not have computer access, please feel free to phone me at 503-590-2913. I will post your information on the site, and pass messages on to anyone else that calls. If I don't answer the phone, please leave voice mail. I will add a short recorded message to my outgoing voice mail to pass along info to folks that call - info like row number and location information for various folks in the group.

Have a great time folks!

Kevin

I WAS AT OSH TODAY AND IT WAS GHOST TOWN. I HAVE NEVER SEEN SUCH A SMALL CROWD.

I COULD NOT FIND ANY LISTING FOR THE MEETING????????????

I FAILED IN FINDING ANY OTHER 337 DRIVERS

I TRIED TO LOOK UP RILEY IT SAID THEY WERE THERE BUT I COULD NOT LOCATE THEM.

HAD A GREAT TIME, SORRY IF I MISSED ANYONE ELSE THERE.

We had to make the "no go" decision yesterday also because of crappy wx. Couldn't get around or above it. Sorry we missed everyone this year.
