Gas prices

As a guy who temporarily is without a Skymaster, or any airplane (I have been renting an Aeronca Champ, big fun!), upon reading Keven's recent message thread titled "Downtown Chicago" my jaw dropped far enough to bruise my chin on the floor. I assumed avgas was running $3.00 to $3.50 across the country. Keven's message makes it sound worse than that even...

Is that what everyone is experiencing?

Kevin

Lightbulb Fuel Prices

Kevin, a great way to check prices is to go to www.airnav.com and click on "Aviation Fuel" then "Check Local Fuel Prices" after which you type in your locatioin or any locatioin and you will get fuel prices within a 50 miles radius rarely more than a couple of weeks old. Very helpfu;! (Prices range all over hell and gone! - try MEM)

Unhappy Fuel Prices

Oops! I haven't looked for a while. The dates of the prices on AirNav range far wider than I remember. I would not trust any quotes more than a few weeks old - some were 2-3 years old.
My home base is AWM and the prices quoted there were still valid the last time I fueled up about 3 weeks ago.

Airnav is great, but as Jim points out, the prices can be real old, and not reflect anything except the potential. They are also only 1 price, and there frequently is more than that. RapidAir, here at GRR is 2.99 during the week, but on weekends it is 2.59, FS. If your hangar is here, they will even drive over to the hangar.

In addition, I don't know how many people add comments, but I haven't added any in 2 years. I know, shame on me. Just not the first thing on my mind when I come back from a trip.
