Smile New Aircraft if you Like Twin Amphib.

I just found my dream plane for $600,000 if I had the bucks. You
could fly to the Carrabean without a worry of engine failure. I always like the amphib. idea. You can land almost anywhere in an emergancy and walk away. Did you ever notice how many lakes you fly over on a trip. On top of that it is a true 6 place twin with leg room. It looks like it would be very close to a in-line twin also.
The link to new Amphib is www.beriev-usa.com

It is cool

I have seen this on the beriev.ru website for a while, and read that it was now FAA certified. It is a cool plane, unfortunately, very limited payload. The numbers given are off by 150 pounds, incidentally.
They include the pilot in the weight of the airplane, thus detracting from useful load. I think the fuel flow settings are EXTREMELY optimistic, given that they are the same engines we use (IO-360's).
Never the less, it would be a VERY COOL plane to own. The engines are set very close to the fuselage, so asymetric thrust should be minimized.

And, unlike most float planes, this is certified to sea state 2.

Did anyone see this at OSH??

DIDN'T SEE IT AT OSHKOSH BUT IF IT WAS LOCATED IN THE SEAPLANE AREA THAT IS OFF THE NORMAL PROPERTY.

LOOKS TO ME LIKE SOMEONE MADE AN EMERGENCY WATER LANDING.

I wonder if anyone told them what the word "Bereave" means in English. <grin>

Kind of reminds me of the Japanese soft drink "Pocari Sweat." Or, their non-dairy creamer "Creep."

slow flight

I checked that plane out in Oshkosh and it is very sharp in looks. However, payload is relativity low and worse is, it is sloooooo in flight. It will take forever to get anywhere.
