Gear Lock Switches

Hi guys,
Has any one found a outlet for the down lock switches for landing gear. My 337H gear is failing again to close doors after gear is down and locked in position. It takes 4 tries before the doors close and green light comes on. My main gear down lock switch number is S2088-1 and the nose gear switch is S1377-1 according to my parts book. I priced them at the shop that does repair and they quoted $736.00 for the 3 micro switches. The switches are like the ones I used on computers 20 years ago that cost $2.00 each. Thanks for any help, Dale Campbell

I can't imagine that all of these switches are bad unless soemthing happened to the plane, like it was sitting in salt water for a few years. Pop the swithces off, and clean them well with an electronics cleaner, and ohm test them. One hours work on these will save you a few grand.

If cleaning doesn't work, try Preferred Airparts at 800-433-0814 (www.preferredairparts.com). The S means it's a standard part used in many aircraft, and Preferred buys the inventory of out-of-business airplane dealers and FBOs. If Preferred doesn't have it, Google it to see if anyone else does.

Gear Lock Switches

Thanks guys,
The micro switches are sealed plastic and can not be taken apart or I would take that effort and clean them. I contacted Preferred Airparts and can get the s2088-1 for $95.40 each which is $127.20 cheaper for the pair. Thanks again, Dale

Hi,
I'm not up on the H models, but on the B models there is a microswitch on the powerpack that will cause this exact problem. Either replace the switch, which is about 25 dollars or try cleaning it with electrical contact cleaner.

Switches

The H model doesn't have a switch on the power pac The switches on the mains are the cheap ones, the one on the nose gear is @ $450.00. We just had a wire break on an uplock switch, the pilot wasn't paying attention and fried the power pac motor. You may also want to check the switch rigging making sure it's compressing
