One of the greatest problems today...
Will you be able to port over the entire message history?
It is a wonderful accumulation of knowledge and innuendo.

Is, there are so many 'solutions' offered for any given problem, it is hard...

Clean install
While initially thinking just to replace my "Ye Olde GPS moving map"

I realized a completely clean install could
greatly simplify installation

Images of complete new Avidyne stack coming alive
Decision made, proceeding apace.
All Avidyne, one mfr, no finger pointing, "That's the other guy's problem"
I like their 'open' platform, simpler, more intuitive I/O.
Lower annual cost for dbase...

ACF 50 / Corrosion X
This reminds me, when I was commuting for 22 years along the ocean to the Outer Banks, down low: Every 2nd or 3rd annual, when it's all opened up, have the entire airframe fogged with ACF 50 or...

What is required for installation??
I can see the benefit, but $4,500 installed buys a lot of AP time.
How complex to install?
Any installation manual available to get an idea of it?

Looking into windshield history
Do you have a doc or other showing the original thickness of the 336 windshields?
I'm doing some research.
It seems the original windshields may have been thinner, but I am looking for...

As I heard it said,
a Skymaster had an engine failure in Vermont, over the mountains, in winter, IFR at night.
The Controller asked, "Are you declaring an emergency?"
The Skymaster pilot...

Fellow Skymasterists, lend me your ear,
I have finally decided to bite the bullet and am about to have installed a full Avidyne suite.

Add a fuse to protect motors!
The cowl flap arrangement was poorly thought out. It exercises the wiring bundle and mechanism with each cycle.
Probably someone at Cessna said, 'We forgot the cowl flap motor, so make it fit in...

Tim
Your gauges probably similar to mine.
"The technology that got man to the moon"
Scary, right?
The mains have two senders, and each aux has one sender.
They are all low resistance, so anything...

I use two TSIO 360AB engines
I own Potomac Airfield. www.potomac-airfield.com
Our T hangars go for between $500 and $900+/mo.
At those prices, I'd have to be out of my mind to rent a hangar!
Actually, ...

My thoughts on MU2
As a fun-loving young man,
I scanned the various options, before buying my helicopter.
Back then you could find a small Cessna Paris Jet.
Remember those? Was it even four seats? Cool!
Most obvious...

Your description 'pumping oil and compression in the 50's" is highly suspect.
As 'pumping oil' makes no sense.
Nor do I believe all the compressions have all dropped so suddenly.
I think they...

In PCA above 18k ft, the world is all 090Mhz. radar, tcas, etc
That said, the heavies up there all have TCAS and can see your basic Mode AC transponder just fine.
As can FAA if within radar...
