You can buy the slightlyolder GoPros on ebay for next to nothing.
I have two 3s and a 4, as well as a 5.
Just need time to play with them.
All you really want, I think, is basic image...

What are YOUR traffic pattern speeds?
We now have two 'thrashers on Potomac, as part of my airfield beautification program.
Curious what others use for pattern speeds. Short field?
Mine is full Robertson STOL

With a moving map...
I always set my GPS moving map to project a course line ahead by 50 miles or so.
Then, the few times I have used the autopilot at all, I simply slowly turn the autopilot heading bug and as airplane...

I just had it removed
After a large friend stepped on it, and it broke (did I mention he was large?),
and repeatedly hitting my shins on it,
I just had it removed during an annual.
I'd swear I picked up 2-3 knots...

Stewart Warner fuel senders
It's about that decade again, time again to cleanup the fuel senders!
Every few years the outboard senders (mostly) seem to need some love. Perhaps it's because on occasion the tanks are not left...

Highly recommend Autopilots Central Kansas
Mine just finally died. No response to heading, or pitch.
I replaced all the capacitors with modern, higher temp, higher voltage components.
I noted in some cases a remarkable difference between...

Hmmmm...
Haven’t seen anything like that in cars or boats.
Is it to recover from a situation of zero battery voltage available in flight?

Motor polarity
Cessna used similar motors for other things.
Sometimes their polarity different.
I bought two motors same size shape, for some other Cessna, new in box (from 1970?), and they ran the opposite...

These are available in LED as well
I switched all small bulbs to their equivalent LED.
Now the gear up/down lights cool to touch and never burn out.
Same with backlight bits
I THINK they were called T1-3/4 midget-flange 28 volt...

Simple than securing and un-securing all the time.
When kids were very small one rear facing seat with wife in other...

Autopilots Central
Looking at the options, it would be $25k++ ish to put in a new autopilot.
The airplane is soooooo stable I hardly use it at all, but...

It double reverses to work.
Probably someone said, "Oh, we forgot the cowl motors. Here is the mounting footprint, draw...

And another thing...about purging
I do think the system will self purge, but can take a lot of full cycles to do so.
So even after 'topping' the tank, it will continue to burble air up, and need to be re-topped a few more times...

Years ago I drilled down on this: Why 12 qts when it is happy w 6?
For certification, the engines have a max allowable oil burn rate.
At that max allowable oil burn rate,

Bring the RPM back a hair after takeoff and you will hear that 'gnrrrrr;' dropoff instantly.

Let me add the stormscope antenna ended up sort of over the pilot's head on top.
Thunderstorms are overhead, after all.

I also think the double windows are for thermal insulation.
For high altitude pressurized and turbo aircraft, even in summer, 'baby it's cold outside'

Upgrade the alternators with as...
