I know there's a 336 based at Torrance, CA. Don't know the N number. I think the owner lost his medical, so I don't know if it gets flown.

I can't remember his last name, but Armando works out of Torrance. He just did a 337 checkout for a new owner there, and he did the last biennial checkride I took before I sold my O2. The phone...

If it's a Super Skyrocket, they are TSIO 520s, and the numbers listed are what Riley posts. I saw a review in one of the aircraft mags years ago that thought they were pretty close.

When you say fuel flow is all over the place, does it go above and below what's set, or just below? Sounds like it could be a vent problem if it's just dropping off.

There are similar photos on this web site, along with a few stories of low approaches there. There are also some "incident" photos that are pretty amazing.

My experience was that the cowl flaps want to open somewhat, not close. At high speed, the motor was straining to get them fully closed. If the brake slipped, they'd creep partially open.

I'm not sure you can hold altitude on one engine with the ferry tank full. Also, I'd be more concerned about how much harder you're running the rear engine.

As I recall, you just have to go back and do one approach with an engine shut down (or zero thrust) to get the multi added on to your instrument rating.

Check the swivel fitting in the brake line on the top end of the gear leg. They can leak in one position, and be fine the rest of the time. I had a similar incident, but in my case I was just taxiing...

It's possible that in replacing the hoses, some fod got knocked loose and clogged things up. Did this start happening right after the hose change?

If anyone has good OCR software, most of the text can be pulled out of the scan. It still needs editing, but it's faster than typing it from scratch.

The one I'm talking about is the proof of concept done for the military on the O-2A. It had two turboprops, and if they'd done the whole conversion, it would have had a new greenhouse as well.

I believe it is being converted back to standard engines. There is a web page somewhere on the restoration. I saw it a long time ago, so it may have been completed by now.

I don't know about any other engines, but the R-1820s used on T-28s had ceramic coated exhausts on at least some of them.

O-2A is most definitely included, particulary since it was subjected to lots of high G maneuvers. Falls in the same classification with arcraft used for terrain following. Good idea to do anyway,...

This discussion makes me a little nervous! Judging by these responses, a factory reman has a 50% chance of going south at a very low time. Makes me wonder about their quality control.

I don't have the Dash one handy (maybe Oscardeuce can check his), but I don't believe there is a Vle listed for the O2. I remember looking for it, but I don't think I ever found one.

The dash one on the O2 says that spins are not allowed, but that they aren't a problem either. They claim standard recovery techniques work just fine. Haven't tried it myself, so I can't vouch for it.

I think to increase max landing weight, you'd probably have to rebuild the whole airframe. Landing gear, wing attach, spar strength, all have to do with it. The g stress you put on the airframe when...
