Sorry, I don't have an answer to your question, but do have a search tip. The best way I've found to search SOAPA is by using Google with a "site" filter. Prefix your search with "site:www.337skymaster.com" then add the search words.
Ex: "site:www.337skymaster.com crankshaft seal" Downside of this method is the index seems to be about 6 months behind. Last edited by GearUp : 01-25-23 at 01:28 PM. |

Thanks, Kim. The Aviation #2 sounds pretty official, and even Wally World carries it.

The Continental M-0 repair manual has all the info on procedure and sealants to use, on the road and from memory…
Clean bore well with MEK, there is a spray primer that is applied, then the purple case half sealant goes on the bore, then the permatex brown liquid on the seal and install. When I can I will get the actual numbers of the items. |

One sticking point is that the person who installed the seal retainer plates, 90 degrees off from what the parts diagram shows, did so when the sealant was still wet. I don't think they're going to come off without being bent. Good thing new plates are so cheap. Less than $20 each! :0( |
