Here's some good reading for you. I forgot I was going to attach this earlier.

Given the circumstances in the light twin aircraft sales, a 337 is lower than I have seen them in many years. Just be careful you understand the complexity of owning a Cessna Twin Engine airplane. It is not a 182, it requires more attention to everything. Granted a 336 might be simpler but Cessna only built them one year for a reason. Be very cautious of "REALLY CHEAP" priced Skymasters. There may be many skeletons in the closet of some low cost Skymasters out there. You will be much better off buying something that has been used frequently rather than something that hasn't been flown for years (they are out there). It sounds like you are operating from a short field so a STOL kit would be valuable. However you proceed make sure you have a thorough pre-buy inspection by a qualified Skymaster mechanic.
