I have seen this unit since it was introduced last year. It is really a value item and labeled "entertainment only" can be added to the panel. See attached Aviation review

Thanks, Herb. The Dynon page that I reference above has links to 7 reviews, including the one you cite from Aviation Consumer. I hadn't seen the "Entertainment" label, but it might be a cute way of getting around having to get FAA approval for installation on certified aircraft. In any event, aside from speeds and altitudes being GPS derived, it appears to be a bona fide glass panel -- at an incredible price.
