It deletes the main gear doors and the actuators that operate those doors. I requires that you remove the doors and actuators and then replace the doors with a composite panel that allows the gear access to retract without opening. That opening stays open at all times. Is there any significant performance hit from removing the doors?

No performance hit at all. Extremely noticeable difference on gear retraction as you do away with the "barn door" affect caused by the clamshells. As soon as we get positive rate, we retract the gear with no adverse affects. We market this product as a safety feature in the case you lose an engine during gear retraction or end up with a door stuck open.
