The DG in my 1968 drives the autopilot and that will be a problem with the new stuff out there. The Aspen would work but the highest price I have gotten to O/H is about $1500.00 If I could put an Aspen in for that it would be there. $1500 won't buy you the schedule at the radio shop. Last I checked the Aspen pushes $20k installed

Herb:
I guessing that your autopilot DG is a 52D54(?). The high overhaul price is for the electrical part of the DG. The vacuum driven mechanism should be around $350. If the heading pre-select and course bug are right on there is not much for them to do with that part of the DG. Dave |
