ENGINES QUIT IN FLIGHT
The cause has been found.....
My home base have a self serve fuel tank. Two weeks prior I had the tanks full, and tied the airplane down. On the day in question, I did not visually check the tanks, (The gauges are not reliable). When we were checking to find the cause, there cames our friendly sherif (My IA also works for them). You guys are not thinking aboot going flying are you? he asked, and I say why not? Because you'll need gas, he says... To make a long story short., the race cars also use aviation gas, and the pump din't work, they just suck the gas out of the airplanes. I know I should have checked the gas visually, but I did not. It is in my check list now. P.S. They have not been found. Thanks to all for the kind words Tony P. |
