Urgent need for Turbo Housing
This is a thread that goes back a few years, but for the me need is now. After a long slog sorting out a fuel controller issue, getting the bird back into annual and taking her aloft to 12.5K', the MP suddenly dropped out of the rear engine and we decided to come home. Inspection of the engine oil showed a glitter paint quality to it and a seized rear turbo shaft. Turbo was sent out to a turbo shop (ATC); they report the housing is cracked beyond repair.
So I'm looking high and low for a rear turbo housing for my P337G. Rear turbo part number is 406610-9022. Turbine housing itself is 407169-0007. Multiple websites claim availability, but when called there is nothing in stock. I've put in calls to Don in OK and Owen in TN; waiting to hear from each. Apparently the manufacturer isn't making them anymore. Hope there are some good ideas here. Advice? Tim Cote 2027386336 N639GC

Might be time to look for a replacement that is similar and have a DER approve it

337 rear turbo
Yes, the DER approval for using the front one (identical turbo except for minor mounting issues) onto the rear engine is our Current plan. But who is the DER for sign-off? Which Powerplant DER is certified for the turbo AND is near to Maryland? We have the Directory but haven't a clue who to call.
Thanks so much, Tim Cote 202 738 6336
