Lubricating Control Cables

The force needed to move the rear throttle cable had become way too much for comfort. Once accessing the cables, we used Kroil oil and a hypodermic needle with a 26-gauge needle to seep the Kroil oil onto and into the cable end, just by placing the needle tip on the cable end and allowing gravity to take place (no plunger involved). Just fill up the cartridge and repeat several times. Now the force to move the cable is reasonable. The flat edge of the needle goes on the cable end while setting butted up to the protective casing. This takes a little time but the results are well worth it. Hope this helps
