Key differences between C336 & C337

I know, total newb question. But could someone educate me on the most important differences between the 336 and 337 other than the gear? I've read here so far that the wing's angle of incidence is different, such that the 336 rides nose-high (er). And the 336 lacks the larger dual rear cowl flaps and has a smaller, lower air inlet scoop over the rear cowling; they apparently run hotter.

It looks from pictures that the belly is a rounder shape on the 336, too.

Anything else significant?

At the point I’d be ready to step up to one of these, probably a lot of x-countries in the 200-300 nm mile ballpark, with a 600 nm round trip Raleigh - S Florida ideally every other month

You will be much better locating a 337 C model or newer. The C, D, F models all have standard swing door entry on right side and have the rear baggage door which is really nice. Just need to find the right plane that has been taken care of and used regularly. Most of the good ones are not listed on the known internet sites but tend to be word of mouth so it's best to start looking and eliminating until you find that right fit.

The G models are fine also but will be heavier but more useful load in most cases. These have the airstair, clamshell door and can be very nice for entry in and out but you loose the rear baggage door and I like that rear door. Good luck with the hunt, ask lots of questions.

335/337

Herb I totally agree with you on the importance of the baggage door. We have an A model and we really use the baggage door a lot and can not imagine getting along without it.

But I do have a question for you. I am curious why you specifically recommended the C, D, and F models. What advantages do they have over the A and B models?

Early 337 models

Thanks for that info. Are there any significant differences in the systems in those early models?
