Dear Sirs,
If I may suggest an economical solution to the problem of inaccurate tachs in our Skymasters. Sporty's sell the Tru Tach Optical Tach for $189.95. Simply Velcro onto the glare shield in full view of the front prop, set the rear RPM's by the sound. Once you have set your required RPM in the cruise or other point, note the readings on the aircrafts installed tachs for future reference and of course for night flying. I had the Tru Tach comparred to the unit on a Chadwick prop balancing system (durring the prop balancing on the aircraft following overhaul) and it was spot on! Perhaps not as cool as spending a lot of cash on a panel mount system, but just as good. Save the cash for fuel. Regards James |
